Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs StudioForge

Can I use a StudioForge™ piece in the kitchen?

The choice is yours — to use or display. While StudioForge items are Collector Blades, they are made to a performance standard from high-spec materials, and meticulously sharpened to cut true and hold an edge. However, most collectors choose to keep their pieces in unused condition to preserve long-term value and appearance. Some releases use specialized materials that require extra care if used. Each product comes with specific guidance for that piece.

How do I care for my StudioForge™ Collector Blade?

For Display:
Keep in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. The magnetic Fortress of Solitude™ stand provides optimal positioning and protection for long-term preservation.

For Kitchen Use:
While most collectors choose not to use their pieces, or use them sparingly, the choice is yours. If you choose to use it, follow the same maintenance steps you would use for any high-end blade*: Hand wash only with mild soap and dry thoroughly — immediately. Do not submerge in water for extended periods. Never use a dishwasher, as it can damage the specialized materials. Always return to the display stand when not in use to maintain the blade's pristine condition and protect your investment.

*Note that each product comes with specific guidance for that particular piece, given the specialized materials, build, and finishes from product to product.

Why are editions so limited?
Because it makes each one all the more special. This is the artisan approach to collectibles. We specialize in ultra-limited, one-time-only production runs. By avoiding mass production, we ensure the highest quality, extreme rarity, and a level of hand-finishing that isn't possible at scale.

How do I know my piece is authentic?
Every StudioForge piece is officially licensed, individually serialized, and comes with its own authentication artifact — whether that's a collectible key, badge, certificate, or embedded certification. Each carries your unique edition number, confirming your place among the limited number of collectors worldwide.

How does pre-ordering work?
Most StudioForge releases are offered as pre-orders due to their limited production and high demand. A deposit secures your allocation, with the remaining balance collected before shipment. You'll receive regular updates on the status of your piece throughout the process. For full details on deposits, shipping, and returns, see our [Shipping & Returns page.

What's the connection between StudioForge™ and Dalstrong?
StudioForge was born from Dalstrong's culinary tool engineering and manufacturing expertise. Dalstrong's blade technology — including D3™ sharpening and LionShield™ conditioning — is built into every StudioForge piece. The difference is the mission: where Dalstrong creates premium culinary tools for the kitchen, StudioForge channels that same capability into collectible art that honors the stories and characters we love most.
